InMover (referred to herein as "InMover," "us," "our," or "we") is a technology-enabled moving and relocation services company operating throughout Kenya. Since our founding, we've helped thousands of Kenyans move their homes and offices safely and affordably. We value your privacy and are committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, and protect your personal information when you use our website (inmover.co.ke), mobile applications, or our moving services (collectively, the "Services").
By using our Services, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree with this policy, please do not use our Services.
WHAT INFORMATION WE COLLECT
We collect information that you provide directly to us and information that is automatically collected when you use our Services:
Information You Provide to Us
- Account Information: Name, email address, phone number, and password when you create an account
- Moving Service Details: Pickup and delivery addresses, moving dates, type of move (apartment, office, etc.), items to be moved, and any special requirements
- Payment Information: Payment method details (processed securely through M-Pesa, Pesapal, or other payment processors - we do not store your full payment card details)
- Communication: Messages, feedback, reviews, or complaints you send to us
- Mover Application Information: If you apply to be a mover, we collect your name, contact details, vehicle information, and background check information
Information We Collect Automatically
- Device Information: IP address, browser type, device type, operating system
- Usage Information: Pages you visit, time spent on pages, links clicked, search queries
- Location Information: When you use our mobile app, we may collect your location to help match you with nearby movers and provide accurate service estimates
- Cookies and Tracking: We use cookies and similar technologies to improve your experience and analyze how our Services are used
HOW WE USE YOUR INFORMATION
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide our Services: Process your moving requests, connect you with movers, schedule services, and handle payments
- Communicate with You: Send you service updates, confirmations, respond to your inquiries, and send important notices about your account or services

- For Legal Reasons: We may disclose information if required by law, court order, or government request, or to protect our rights and safety
- Business Transfers: If InMover is acquired or merged, your information may be transferred to the new owner
- With Your Consent: We may share information for any other purpose with your explicit consent
DATA SECURITY
We take reasonable measures to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, alteration, or disclosure. This includes:
- Using secure servers and encryption for sensitive data
- Limiting access to personal information to authorized employees and service providers

- Secure password storage (we never see or store your password in plain text)
However, no method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure. While we strive to protect your information, we cannot guarantee absolute security.

DATA RETENTION

This notification is in compliance with Kenya's Data Protection Act, 2019.
THIRD-PARTY SERVICES AND INTEGRATIONS
Our Services may contain links to third-party websites or integrate with third-party services. We are not responsible for the privacy practices of these third parties. We encourage you to review their privacy policies. Examples of third-party services we use include:
- Payment Processors: M-Pesa, Pesapal, and other payment gateways
- Analytics Services: Google Analytics and similar tools to understand how our Services are used
- Cloud Storage: Secure cloud providers for data storage
- Communication Tools: SMS and email service providers
- Mapping Services: Location and mapping services for route optimization
Google services. Our mobile apps and website use Google services, including Google Maps (for pickup/dropoff and location), Google Sign-In (where offered), and Firebase (e.g. push notifications). Use of these services is subject to Google's Privacy Policy and Google's Terms of Service. Data processed by Google is handled as described in those policies.
These third parties have their own privacy policies and terms of service. We recommend reviewing them to understand how they handle your information.
DO NOT TRACK SIGNALS
Some browsers have a "Do Not Track" feature that lets you tell websites you do not want to have your online activities tracked. Our Services do not currently respond to "Do Not Track" signals. However, you can control tracking through your browser settings and our cookie preferences.
MARKETING COMMUNICATIONS AND OPT-OUT
If you no longer wish to receive marketing communications from us, you can opt-out by:
- Clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email
- Replying "STOP" to any marketing SMS

Please note that even if you opt-out of marketing communications, we may still send you important service-related messages (such as booking confirmations, service updates, and account notifications).
